Update: New photos added
Yesterday was a big day!
Amy and I travelled up to Sydney yesterday to attend the National Keep Australia Beautiful awards for 2010. Awake at 0530 to get to the airport on time, then a quick flight to Sydney, then a train to the Circular Quay, then a ferry to the venue.
So did we win? No, unfortunately, but the best city won on the day. The top award went to the City of Stirling in Western Australia. Here is the delegation from the west.
But all was not lost. The Shire of Melton won the Energy Innovation award which was a fantastic achievement. You can read the press release here.
One of the Melton residents – Gavin – has created an enormous blog which has had 110,000 page views and he’s established the Melton Sustainable Living Group with 15 members.
All in all a great day, and I thank our council for inviting Amy and I along for the ride. Better luck next year!
